Jira integration

Enabling the Jira integration within Insytful allows you to create Jira issues easily from the individual page view to manage tasks. This feature is available only for Paid plans (Plus and Enterprise).

Who can enable the integration?

To enable the integration, you need to be either a Site or Organisation admin.

By default, Issues can only be opened by these users. If you want to customise your permissions further, please open a help desk ticket.

Set up

  1. Open up the Integrations settings in Insytful
  1. Check Enable Jira integration and follow the steps below. The following fields are required to get the integration set up:
    1. Add the Jira base URL
    2. Add Jira email address
    3. Add Jira API key
    4. Add Jira project
  1. Set up a user in your Jira instance for the Insytful integration and take note of the Email.
  2. Once logged in as your new user, head to account settings.
  1. Navigate to the security tab.
  1. Click Create and manage API tokens.
  1. Click Create API token.
  1. Enter a name (for example, Insytful Integration) and choose an expiry date (this step will need to be repeated and stored in your Integration settings after it expires).
  1. Take note of the generated token.
  1. Go to your project in Jira and head to the Project Settings.
  1. Take note of the Project Key.

  1. To find your Jira base URL, please check the first part of the URL in Jira, as shown in the example below. The URL will be something like [https://myproject.atlassian.net].
  1. Now you have all the relevant details, enter them in your settings page and press "Save".
