Performance
The Performance report is a Premium feature available on Plus and Enterprise plans.
Performance scoring
The performance score in Insytful indicates how quickly your website elements load for users. It also detects other usability metrics, such as layout shifts, unused JavaScript, and oversized images.
Monitoring the performance of your website is an important user experience metric.
The performance score is split into 5 key metrics:
- Speed index
- First contentful paint
- Total blocking time
- Largest contentful paint
- Cumulative layout shift (CLS)
Plus monitoring for other opportunities to speed up your website, with failed audits.
Poor website performance can restrict usage over slower internet connections. Users, in general, are more likely to click away from slow-loading content or content that shifts position as the page loads.
Performance and sustainability
Performance insights in Insytful identify the lowest-scoring pages, which are those with the highest carbon weighting, and the number of opportunities to improve them.
The performance report ranks issues from worst to best, highlighting high-carbon elements on your website such as oversized images and files, unused scripts and poorly cached resources.
Scans provide insights into resource-heavy pages and produce prioritised remediation recommendations. For example, to reduce the carbon impact of a web page, Insytful will suggest reducing the size of image files, or converting to modern formats such as AVIF, or replacing large PDF documents with HTML content.
