Insytful monthly roundup: November 2024
Typically, the end of the year signifies a time to be winding down for most organisations. Not for us! November has been a busy time for us at Insytful.
In the blog:
We have started working on significant analytics work to gather page view information to showcase in Insytful, and Contensis later. The work is still very much conceptual, with database and table design and infrastructure changes to gather the logs and analytics information.
Within the Insytful, we have made some improvements across different areas of the app, including:
File sizes and dates
File sizes and dates now appear uniformly everywhere in the app, matching the Contensis design system.

PDF best practice
On the individual PDF file viewer page, we now highlight if key metadata is missing from the file. To help with this new feature, we also wrote a fancy new guide on the subject, too.

Same Sign On (SSO) is coming to Insytful
We have been working on the infrastructure to allow organisations, with their login provider, to set up Same-Sign-On with Microsoft Entra ID. SSO in Insytful will allow users to log in with existing organisation credentials. We're really pleased to be releasing this feature for additional security for large organisations and it's one less password to remember, too. This feature will be released in early 2025, watch this space!
Other updates and fixes
Individual pages
Insytful users, Canterbury Christ Church University have been providing great feedback about how we can enhance the app. As a result, we'll be implementing updates to individual pages to visualise:
- How key metrics for each page have changed since the last scan.
- What has been resolved since the last scan.
- What is a new issue since the last scan.
We hope that these changes will make it even more evident how your content is progressing over time. We have created the designs and are scheduling the update for early 2025 once SSO has been released.
Updates and releases in Insytful
Insytful is constantly evolving, with new releases coming weekly. To avoid interrupting users when releases are made, we have introduced notifications so users can load the latest version of Insytful. Users will notice an option to load the newest version of the app (the same as refreshing the browser), which will avoid app crashes.
On the blog in November
That's a wrap on November 2024
There will be more Insytful updates in December. Stay tuned to see what we get up to.
