Permissions

Page last updated 16 October 2025

Update: Roles have been changed to permissions, as documented in September's update.

Permissions are a way of granting groups of users in your organisation permission to perform specific actions in Insytful. This enables you to separate duties within your team and provide users with exactly the amount of access they need to perform their job.

User permissions

There are three standard user permissions for Insytful. The type assigned to a user depends on their permissions and access to the app.

  • Organisation admin
  • Site admin
  • Editor

Organisation admin

Has full access to Insytful. Organisation admins can create sites, delete sites, and manage organisation billing. This user type can manage all users and add or delete, assign a role and add to a group. Includes permissions of site admins and editors.

Site admin

Are responsible for their own sites. Site admins can manage users for their site. Includes permissions of editors.

Editor

Editors can view pages and add words to the dictionary. Editors can run single page scans. Editors cannot manage users.
