Insytful monthly roundup: August 2025
TL;DR [too long; didn't read] đ¤Ż
Improvements to the Insytful UI landed in August:
- You can now get high level insights for sections; number of pages and score.
- The last scan modal has had a glow up, with more useful information.
- Analytics can now support more date ranges!
- We've given a sneak preview of updates coming in September.
As we approach the end of the summer, we've released some quality-of-life improvements, architectural changes, and exciting plans.
In the August update
In August, our team took the opportunity for some rest, relaxation, and well earned annual leave. With a scaled back team for some of the month, we focused on polishing and iterating within the user interface (UI). The small but mighty user experience (UX) changes to sections and the last scanned modal will enhance everyday use of the app.

Sections updates đď¸
We released our sections feature earlier this year and have continuously worked to improve user experience. As part of this, we have redesigned the section switcher (shown below).

The section switcher has now been redesigned to show:
- The section's name
- The number of pages per section
- And the overall section score.
What does this update mean for your teams?
This extra context will help users quickly get an overview of their entire site vs sections and easily navigate between them. Identify the best performing areas of your website, and the areas that need more attention.
The update also means you'll find the section switcher added to a few more pages where it was not visible before, in addition to some bugs fixed on list pages.
Future update: At the moment, switching between sections does not update the URL in the browser bar, which means you cannot easily share the URL with other colleagues. This is scheduled to be implemented in a following iteration, to encourage collaboration and make sharing a specific section easier.
Last page scan modal âšď¸
In the last scanned modal, we now make it clear to users whether their page was scanned as mobile or desktop format. This update avoids confusion for users when some elements don't show in the renderer.

Why is this update useful?
Websites can look different on mobile and desktop. Sometimes, itâs just layout changes, and other times, the site actually loads different content.
This update makes it clear whether Insytful has scanned your site as desktop or mobile. Each scan type behaves slightly differently and gives you feedback, so it's appropriate to know the correct device type.
Who does the update benefit?
For website owners, this feature provides options to compare the performance of the desktop or mobile site. Insytful shows you which version of the page that was scanned; whether your site is "mobile-first", or is accessed traditionally via desktop.
Future update: As an outcome of working on the UI, we have done some further design iterations on the last scanned modal on the site. We have more details to share next month, as the next iteration will be implemented in September.
Honourable mentions
- Infrastructure update: Insytful's infrastructure improved scan performance and wider site support.
- Website enhancement:Â With a growing help and docs area on the website, we've implemented search to make finding the content you need, quicker and easier.
- Bug fix:Â If a site could not be found, it would silently fall back onto another site, resulting in confusing behaviour.
- Analytics update: Analytics now supports more date range options (for example, last week, last 12 months, year-to-date). Also updated graphs to show results consolidated into hours, days, weeks, months where appropriate.
- Infrastructure update: Utilising the new project delete in Contensis v17 to tidy up sites.
- Content quality updates: We started looking at how to provide further guidance on invalid telephone and mailto links; more on this in September's update.
